What is your most memorable wine or wine and food experience?
My most memorable wine and food experience was a wine tour of 3 vineyards and a castle in Tuscany. We enjoyed Chianti, Chianti Classico and a Super Tuscan with accompanying charcuterie, salad, soup, and lasagna. We finished off a memorable day with a tour and tasting of Brunello wines at Abbadia Ardenga Winery in Montalcino, Italy.
What wines have you always wanted to try but haven’t? What is your favorite vineyard? Region?
My favourite vineyard is, without a doubt, Abbadia Ardenga in Italy. I would like to visit the Bordeaux and Burgundy regions in France.
What event or experience started your journey in wine?
I used to enjoy an occasional glass of wine, until I met Rick Homer. He showed me that I could make high quality wines at home. The most important lesson I learned from Rick was ‘you cannot make good wine if you don’t drink good wine’. Since meeting Rick and Mary Homer in 2002, I have become a wine enthusiast. In 2008 I joined the BC Guild of Wine Judges, where I learned how to technically assess wine and I am now a qualified wine judge and enjoy participating in wine competitions
