What is your most memorable wine or wine and food experience?
My most memorable wine and food experience happened across a small family winery in Rovinj, Croatia. There was a huge crate of recycled 1.5 litre plastic bottles that you pick from, which then get filled from giant tanks of their Malvazija (Malvasia) wine. It is fully acceptable to drink it with ice, which is a very good thing on a 45⁰ Celsius day in July while lounging by the Adriatic Sea !
What wines have you always wanted to try but haven’t? What is your favorite vineyard? Region?
Inspired by experiences like in Croatia, I would like to discover more of the smaller wine regions of the world; to taste the ones we don’t often, or ever, get access to in Canada.
What event or experience started your journey in wine?
A family trip to Italy, of course! It was fascinating to see both the historical impacts and evidence of wine, as well as the modern culture surrounding it.
