What is your most memorable wine or wine and food experience?
One of my most memorable wine experiences is tasting Amarone wine from Italy. I’m fascinated by the traditional method of drying the grapes and the unique blend of different varietals used in its production.
What wines have you always wanted to try but haven’t? What is your favorite vineyard? Region?
As a new wine judge, I am continuing to develop my education and palate. I enjoy exploring wines from all over the world. I haven’t settled on a favorite region yet — as there’s so much to discover — but I love trying wines from different terroirs.
What event or experience started your journey in wine?
A special moment in my wine journey was when I ordered my first carboy of wine from a winemaking store. I was thrilled. It was then that my husband said, “If you like it, you can do it yourself.” That moment sparked my journey into making wine on my own, which then lead me to take the Wine Judge Certification Course offered by the BC Guild of Wine Judges.
