What is your most memorable wine or wine and food experience?
Enjoying regional wines and traditional dishes inside a 12th-century monument in Valencia, Spain.
What wines have you always wanted to try but haven’t? What is you favorite vineyard? Region?
I’d love to one day try Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru from Burgundy—sigh, maybe someday! For now, I’m really enjoying exploring wines made from grapes grown locally on Vancouver Island, such as Ortega, Siegerrebe, and Maréchal Foch. I don’t have a single favorite vineyard; instead, I enjoy visiting a variety of them and sampling different wines.
What event or experience started your journey in wine?
My journey with wine began when my mother returned from a trip to Spain with a couple of bottles of Cava. That experience sparked my curiosity and encouraged me to explore different wines and varietals. Not too long after that, my aunt invited me to a tasting session with the BCGWJ, and from that moment on, I was hooked.
